Aveeno Skin Relief Moistursing Lotion Review & Pictures

Hey Girls,

I've got another little review for you on a new body lotion I've been using. You may know already that I love my Body Shop aloe vera body butter but that does leave a sort of residue on your skin and if I have a shower before bed I'm not a massive fan of that feeling. That is where this lotion comes in!

I've never tried any Aveeno products before but i spotted this on a recent Boots binge and loved the description. 'Moisturising lotion with naturally active triple oat complex for extra dry, irritable and sensitive skin. Immediately relives and moisturises the skin for 24 hours.' I do try to moisturise twice everyday but it hard to remember all the time and sometimes i just cant be bothered! When i read that this moisturises for 24 hours i didn't really believe it if I'm honest but it really does! I apply this after my shower in the evening and it really does soften and hydrate your skin immediately even in the morning it doesn't feel like i really need to moisturise again which is a bonus!

It's quite a thick lotion but it sinks in right away and doesn't leave a residue at all unlike the body butters. My skin feels moisturised but mattified if you know what i mean. I love that its a pump bottle too but you can also get a squeezy tube version if you prefer that.

This may be a little too heavy for the summer time but for now its lovely and I'm really enjoying using it. I really recommend this, i will be repurchasing when it runs out :)

Empties #2

Hey Lovelies ,

I've collected quite a few empties recently so thought I'd split them up into two posts rather than one mahoosive one. These are the emties that I really like and have repurchased or will repurhase in the future - hope you like! x

Pantene Aqua light conditioner - Is it only me that seems to use double the amount of conditioner than shampoo? I really love this conditioner! It's for fine hair but it still hydrates my thick hair enough and leaves it nice and voluminous after blow drying. I do swap my conditioners around lot but I will be repurchasing this.

Neutrogena T/Gel Shampoo - This stuff is just amazing for a dry flakey scalp. My boyfriend uses this more than me and he absolutely loves it too. It clears up any dryness/itchiness in just a few washes! This is about our 6th one of these and will definitely stay a staple in our shower.

Bioderma - I don't think I need to write too much on this as everyone loves it! I don't use this everyday, just the days when I wear a lot of makeup and want to get most of it off before cleansing. I have purchased two big bottles of this!

The Body Shop Aloe Vera Body Butter (Review) - This is a lovely fragrance free option if you have sensitive skin, it really does hydrate your skin and get rid of any dry horrible bits. I love using it after a bath/shower to lock in moisture.

Manuka Honey - If you have read my blog for a while then you may already know that I use this stuff as my daily cleanser (read that post here) it's just incredible. I have already repurchased another of these and will continue to do so!

Anti-Bacterial Handwipes - I got these from Primark as I loved the packaging! For £1 you get this pack and also a zebra pack. These are so handy to shove in your bag or leave on your desk at work. This is my second pack of these and I would defiantly repurchase in the future.

Clinique Dramitically Different Moistuirsing Lotion - This featured in my 2012 favourites! This is the best lotion for my dry skin, it really does help my face feel comfortable and smooth. I have repurchased this so many times and I think I will continue to do so as its the one I can really rely on!

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Powder (Review) - This was also in my 2012 favourites! I discovered this this year and have only recently hit pan. I will be repurchasing as I love how natural it is and it's not drying on my skin.

Skinetica - I got this as a sample in my glossy box and I wasn't sold on it at first. But then, as I got a few bigger breakouts I fell in love with it! It really does help to reduce any blemishes without drying them out. I use this in conjunction with my body shop tea tree oil and they work wonders. I also purchased the big bottle of this :)

L'occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream (Review) - I just love this stuff! It smells absolutely gorgeous and is just so nourishing. I have about 4 of these lying around!

Clinique High Impact curling Mascara - This has been my favourite for around 2 years and is probably my 5th one. I recently got the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme and it over took this one slightly as its just lovely to use.

Honey Cleanser Update

Hey Lovelies,

So I thought I'd do a little update on my honey cleanser to let you know how I've been getting on, I posted about this here if you want to check it out or have a little recap.

So I've been using this all natural cleanser for around two months now and guess what? I fricken love it! I could just end the post there really but I won't lol ;) .. Most of the sciencey bit was in my last post so I won't repeat all of that as I don't want to bore you all!

The Results
This cleanser is so gentle on my sensitive skin and it even helps to relieve the redness on my cheeks, I literally see an immediate improvement. I found that even the gentle cleansers would sting my face before which was really uncomfortable but this is not irritating in the slightest, it feels very soothing as you apply it.

Luckily I don't get many blemishes, only the odd one every now and then but even those have improved. I definitely get them less frequently and they are not as big so that's definitely a win!

I've also found that this is an AMAZING exfoliater. My skin is far to sensitive to use an exfoliater on my face but I've found that this perfect. I hope this isn't too much info but it really helps to get any of them flakey dry bits of skin off. Once you apply the honey and leave it for a minute or so, once you start to massage it in with a little water you can really feel the flakey bits coming off. I'm sorry if that sounds so so gross but it really does help! Once you get them gross bits off, moisturiser just sinks in so nicely too!
Honey is very moisturising but as my skin is super duperly dry I do still have to apply moisturiser after.

It does feel sticky applying it but you do get used to it so don't let this put you off. I even stick my hands to my face a few times to try and suction any grossness out of my pores by using the honey as a sort of glue. I don't really know if that works but it keeps me amused while I wash my face! As soon as you wash it off the stickyness goes, it doesn't linger around or anything.

I really can't recommend this more, give it a try!

2012 Favourites ♥

Hey Lovelies

I know these are really late but I really wanted to post them, so here they are!
(It looks as though my favourites are having a disco! I don't know why I chose this effect lol must have been feeling in the party mood!)

Powders
I love how natural the MAC Mineralise Skinfinish powder is, I like to sweep it over my foundation to set and it looks so natural and not cakey in the slightest. My sister also loves this!
I have been using bareMinerals a lot lately, I mentioned in an earlier post that my cheeks have been a bit too rosy and this has the right amount of coverage to tone those down and it doesn't dry them out. It's also lovely if your feeling lazy as you can just dust it over your face and your ready to rumble - Easy Peasy!

Eye Products
I've used my Clinique Superfine Liner in soft brown the most the year as its just so easy and quick to use. It's hard to go wrong with it and it's lasted blinking ages!
I don't wear eyeliner every day but when I do its a toss up between the Maybelline Studio Gel eyeliner and the Maybelline Line Definer Pen, I chose the pen version in the end as its a little less fiddly than the gel. I have to admit that the gel does give a stronger more defined line though.
I do love my collection 2000 concealer along with the rest of you lot but I like this concealer slightly more! It's the Dream Lumi Touch highlighting concealer, it is just the perfect shade for my skin tone and hides blemishes so well!

More Eye Products
I absolutely love my Bobbi Brown products for hiding up my under eye circles, I have the corrector in Light Bisque and the concealer in Ivory. They are so creamy and dewy and they don't dry  out and turn cakey which I love. I also love the Color Tatoo in permanent taupe which I use as a under eye eyeliner. It really does have that amazing staying power!

Mascaras
My Clinique high impact curling mascara has been my favourite for almost 2 years now but has recently been overtaken by the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara, it's just lovely to use and gives such good results. They are both brilliant mascaras and I highly recommend them both.

Base products
The YSL touche eclat foundation has been a favourite since I got it, it has a lighter dewy coverage which is so hydrating - it really is a gem! I love the MAC Studio Sculpt foundation for nights out, it has a medium to high coverage so you can hide all your bad bits easily. I do find that using this too often does cause me to break out though which is why it's strictly for nights out for me.
The La Roche Posay Toleriane Teint has only just made it into 2012. I bloody love this stuff, the coverage is like nothing I've ever used before and hides literally anything!

Moisturisers
I hear so many people say how bad this Clinique moisturiser is but you know what, it's the only one that bloody works for me. It has parabens and mineral oil in it which I know are nasties but it's honestly the only one that does the job for me. This is about my 4th or 5th bottle of this and I'm down to the last bit now so I had to include it.
The Body Shop Aloe Vera Body Butter is a new find from this year and its just so hydrating for dry winter skin. I couldn't ask for a better moisturiser than this one!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I would love to see your 2012 fav's so leave me your links below so I can have a read up :)

La Roche Posay Toleraine Teint (Foundation) Review & Swatch

Hey Girls ♥,
I picked this up in boots a little while back as my YSL Touche Eclate foundation has been a little too light for my pink cheeks recently. I think it's down to the cold weather but my cheeks have been really irritated and a bit rosier than I would like so I wanted something with a bit more coverage so I could hide them.

This cost £14.50 for 30ml of product which is quite expensive but this has the most amazing, fullest coverage I have ever experienced. I think it has better coverage than most concealers I have tried too! As its such an amazing coverage you really don't need that much and I only apply this on the places I need it (cheeks and under my eyes, this and my Bobbi Brown hide my circles nicely!) rather than all over my face so it should last quite a while.

I do usually like a nice dewy foundation but this isn't dewy in the slightest. It's not really matte either but it's probably closer to matte than dewy although, it doesn't dry out my skin like most other matte foundations do. It's got a medium consistency - it's not runny but its not too thick and cakey either. It applies nicely with my Real Techniques buffing brush and it does look really natural on your skin, it's just perfect in my opinion. It literally erases my red cheeks and doesn't accentuate them at all, it's amazing!

This is designed for irritated skin so I don't feel so bad using it. It doesn't contain fragrance or other irritating ingredients which is handy if your skin is sensitive like mine.

I don't think that they have the most amazing range of colours but I picked up mine in shade 10 (ivory) which is pretty close to the YSL in BD20 or a bit lighter than Mac's Studio Sculpt in NC20.  I think the next shade up is a little darker but more pink toned which I didn't want so this was probably the best choice.

I will DEFINITELY be repurchasing this when it eventually runs out, best product I have found in a long time!

Soap & Glory | Kick Ass Concealer in Light

Hey Lovelies ,

So I've got a review on another concealer today!

I really do hate my under eye circles so when ever I see a concealer which seems like it could potentially hide them, that's it, it's coming home with me for a thorough testing!

So, this little kit is a 3 piece camouflaging kit which includes a peachy under eye brightening concealer, a very yellow concealer and a transparent setting powder. The little compact is really handy for travelling, I just chuck it in my bag, and I love that it has a little mirror in the lid too.

How did it perform? Well, my under eye circles are really blue so this peachy concealer does cover them up really well, the colour match is nearly perfect for me. It does have a lovely creamy consistency, a little lighter than the Bobbi brown concealer I'd say but it just doesn't have the staying power unfortunately, even when paired with the setting powder . I've already hit pan with this concealer and I've only had it for a month, maybe not even that so I am a little disappointed. I got my Bobbi brown corrector for Christmas which I really love but the colour match is not as great as this so if I could get the Bobbi brown concealer in a close shade to this it would be just perfect!

Would I repurchase? This is really tricky! I do really love it but you do have to reapply through out the day and you hit pan so quickly that it makes it expensive overall! So for now I'll stick with my Bobbi brown corrector :)

Mini Feelunique Haul

I included the Caudalie SOS Thirst Quenching serum  (£23.20) on my January Wish List and as it's so cold I thought sod it why not treat my skin to a little hydrating treat! When adding this to my basket I spotted the grape water (£9) which is also meant to boost hydration so I added that in to for a testing too. I'm all about the hydration at the moment ;).

I've been using the Avene thermal spring water recently which is ok, I do find it quite refreshing and it's meant to balance the PH of your skin which means it'a calmer and soothed so it will be nice to compare the two. I thought the grape water would have a grapey fragrence to it but it doesn't have a scent at all. I have very sensitive skin so i do like fragrance free products.
The serum feels lovely, I've tried it on the back of my hand and it feels really soft and plump so I'm hoping my sensitive skin likes this! It's meant to boost hydration by 127% and reduce sensitivity by 61% - so fingers crossed!

I also got the S Factor set (£20.47) which includes the shampoo, conditioner and smoothing lusterizer. I was deciding between this and the Redken set but I opted for this in the end. It smells delicious! I did debate the Macamdamia repair mask too but as I had been a little naughty already I resisted and added the comb in instead! This line is meant to defrizz and tame whilst adding shine so i'm excited to try it!
