October Favourites ♥

Hey Lovelies

November already.. where has this year gone?!
So these are the items I've been lurrving this last month, I have a lot of old favourites back in this month as my skin has been a bit temperamental due to the ever changing weather!

♥ The Body Shop (TBS) Aloe Soothing Night Cream - this has been my saviour recently, it's a recent find of mine but its the only cream i can use that hasn't been stinging my face off. It's not the best moisturiser in the world but its so gentle and soothing.

♥ TBS Tea Tree Oil - I got a free sample of this with my TBS order and I really loved it so i brought it online, I had a nice big spot appear and this really calmed it down and shrunk it overnight :), since then I was converted!

♥ YSL touch Eclat Foundation - My favourite foundation ever! Such a lovely dewy finish with a light - medium coverage. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and even provides a little hydration during the day.

♥ bareMinerals Foundation - I've been using a light layer of this to set my foundation, i find it a little less drying than my other favourite powder (MAC Mineralize Skinfinish)

♥ Sally Hansen Cuticle Defense Oil - Since having my acrylics off my nails have been so brittle, I've been using this every night before bed and it does a really good job.

♥ Bobbi Brown Concealer Kit - There would have to be a pretty special concealer out there to get this off my favourites, hides my dark circles nicely and leaves a nice dewy finish.

♥ Tresemme Liquid Gold argan Oil - I really love this oil, the more i use it the more i love it. I use it as a pre-shampoo the night before i wash my hair and it prevents it from going all hard and crispy, I also use a little before blowdrying and it really detangles my always tangled hair!

This Weeks Favourites ♥

Hi Girls

So these things are new my additions that i love rather than mentioning the same things all the time!

♥ Sleek Contouring Kit - I love using the highlighter side of this when the days are so dull, it adds a bit of a glow to your face which i love (review & swatches here)

♥ Sleek Eyebrow Kit - I haven't wrote a full review on this yet but i really love this palette, i got this in 'dark' as i didn't want it to be too orange and i think this is just right. With this you can blend it in so although it looks nearly black in the pan you can get a nice natural light brown finish on your eyebrows.

♥ Bobbi Brown Concealer Kit - My favourite concealer at the moment for those bloody eye bags! (review here)

♥Bioderma Micellaire Water
♥ Body Shop Face Brush

Both of these are newish purchases and i love love love both of them, I don't use them together but i switch it up. I use the face brush with my Yes to Cucumbers face wash (review here) if i have worn more makeup on that day. I have very sensitive skin and the Micellaire  water doesn't irritate me at all which I'm so pleased about! i use this more on my lazy days but it takes all my make up off easily. I will definitely be buying the full size of this.
I really like the body shop face brush, it was £4 and it was a bit of an impulse buy. I find that my skin doesnt like to be exfoliated it gets sore and red but this is ok!
I dont use it on my really sensitive bits (sounds rude!) but i use it on any places i would usually get a blemish pop up (forehead/chin) & i think its doing a good job. I'll be honest - it's a little scratchy but i'm hoping it will soften up soon.

♥ Tresemme' Liquid Gold - I love using this at the moment, i use it a pre-shampoo and i also add a bit to my ends before blow drying (full review here)

♥ L'occitane Hand Cream -  Love the smell of this, it stops my hands cracking in the dry weather. It's probably not much better than any other hand cream but I'm just so in love with the smell.

♥ Body Shop Cocoa Butter Lip Stick - I lovvvve this, i have really dry sensitive lips that react to most things but this has kept them in shape. I cant even use carmex as it burns a bit and vasaline doesn't do much good but this is honestly amazing and the best thing i have come across (full review here)

♥ MUA Heaven & Earth Palette - I have been using this a lot lately, i think the colours are very autumnal! (full review & swatches here)

♥ Rimmel Eyeliner in 'Forest Green' - I have green eyes and i think this makes them stand out a bit more, also it hides any redness on the waterline -  double wammy! :)

Whats your faavourite product this week ?

Dry Winter Lips Saviour

The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick

I thought i'd share this little beauty with you -  Its a recent find but its amazing!

I gets the most dry cracked lips in this cold weather so I'm always coating my lips in some sort of balm or lip cream to try and soothe them. I was having a browse around the body shop and i saw this, i don't usually buy a lip balm stick as i have sensitive lips and it can sometimes make them irritated. I saw this in a little basket by the till and it caught my eye as i was queueing, it didn't have a price on it so i just picked it up and added it to my purchases (i am a bit of an impulse buyer!). It turned out to be £4 which i think its a little expensive for a lip balm, if i saw this price before hand i probably wouldnt have picked it up if i'm honest but i am soooo glad i did!
It smells of cocoa butter and goes on really smooth and its so hydrating, it doesn't feel sticky at all. It does stay on top of your lips and leave a little gloss behind but i like that. It honestly works wonders from my dry winter lips and they feel so smooth and nice after only a few uses, i'm so amazed!

Bobbi Brown | Concealer Kit Review & Swatches

in 'Ivory'

If you have seen any of my other posts you will know I have the worse dark circles under my eyes and no amount of sleep gets rid of them (thanks mum!)
I thought this was quite an expensive concealer @ £24 for such a little pot but I decided to take the plunge and buy it as the reviews I read were mostly positive.
When i first got this concealer and tried it for the first time I really didn't like it, it seemed so solid and hard to blend in. After a few uses it seemed to become a bit softer and easier to spread/pat around. I now love love love this concealer, I think it even kicks the MAC moisture covers ass (my former HG concealer for dark circles). It so creamy and dewy but not cakey, although it can settle in fine lines a little and it doesn't last all day but i don't think many concealers do last if you don't set them with a powder. I also apply this after my foundation as its easier to apply and adds a little bit extra coverage.
It has a much thicker consistency than the moisture cover and the coverage is amazing it really does cover them up. It's not actually as thick as I was expecting, it is a high coverage concealer but its similar to the collection 2000 concealer but dewier and not drying.

On Bobbi's website she says to use the corrector first and then this over the top, I'm really tempted to try this to see if there is any improvement.

I got this in ivory and it was a total guess off of the Debenhams website but it seems like a good match (I'm usually a NC20 in MAC concealers/foundations) so i had a bit of luck there! It comes with a setting powder too but I don't use this all the time if I'm honest as it is quite drying for under the eyes.
I know some people hate this as it is so thick but personally I love it!

Whats your favourite concealer for under the eyes?

Macadamia Hair Oil Review ♥

Macadamia Oil on Left & Tresemme Argan oil on Right

I have posted a few bad-ish reviews recently so i thought i would actually blog about something i actually love so this is what i picked up out of my goody drawer.
This is my 3rd bottle of this stuff and it smells amazing, even my boyfriend loves the smell.
It's quite a thick oil really, which i do love but i tend to put it on after i have styled my hair as i find that it can take a while to dry if i apply it before and I'm not the most patient of people :)
I also use this as an overnight mask, i slather it on before bed and tie my hair up in a bun - this works wonders for my hair and really smooths it out and hides my split ends nicely once it's washed out.
Another great thing about this is if i have my hair wavey the next day it can get a bit tangled up and this helps to detangle my beehive of a barnet the next morning!
Its quite pricey at around £20 for a 100ml pump bottle and I'd say it lasts around 3 months for me which isn't bad seeing how much i use it -maybe 3 times a week at night and as a serum after styling every other day.
I really recommend this, it's definitely one of my favourite hair care products along with the L'oreal hair mask i always mention. You can get the spray version too which isn't as heavy - this may be better if you don't want a really heavy oil.

What your favourite hair product?

Glossybox October 2012 Review & Pictures

This is my first ever glossybox! whoo hoo exciting :)
I've always fancied signing up for these but never took the plunge due to my really sensitive & dry skin but i decided to go for it this month!
So, in my pretty pink box this month i got -

Anatomicals - don't just clean it woman, scrub it body scrub
A pink grapefruit body scrub that buffs with a bravura sense of charm and wit.

I am in love with my soap & glory breakfast scrub at the moment (along with the rest of the world ay!) so it will be good to see how this compares! I have seen this brand around but its never caught my eye if I'm honest but of course i will give it a go :)
It smells lovely, really fruity & grapefruity. It's not as rough as the breakfast scrub and it's quite jelly like.

Update: Yeaaa its ok but doesn't compare to my S&G scrub although this is a 1/3 of the price!

Yves Rocher France - Instant Anti-Wrinle Moisturiser
Provides deep and lasting moisture and immediately smoothes wrinkles. Enriched with hyaluronic acid for greater effectiveness!

I'm quite excited about this product, although i don't really i have wrinkles i do love a moisturiser and i have heard that hyaluronic acid is great for dry skin. Definitely sounds like it could be one of my favourites in this box.
It has quite a serum-y texture to it and a very heavy strange scent though, its hard to describe but its not a sweet smell at all. It sinks in quickly and isn't greasy at all.

Update: This stuff is amazing, I've used it every day since it arrived and its really helping my dry, sensitive skin in this dodgy weather. I've already ordered a few new bits from the Hydra Vegetal range i loved it that much!

Skinetica - Anti- Blemish
A unique solution for clearing skin blemishes, showing results in 2-3 days. kind to skin with no side effects.

I do get the odd naughty blemish pop up so i will definitely give this a go, i love that it's kind to your skin too :) - I've never heard of this brand before.
It has a runny watery consistency & has a hygenic washing up liquidy scent to it if you know what i mean!

Dr. Jart - Premium Beauty Balm
This Dr Jart+ BB cream provides high SPF40 protection with anti-oxidants. A Slightly glossy, low coverage cream with helps fight ageing. Particularly suitable for those over 30.

I'm not 30 just yet but i am excited about this product, I've never heard of the brand either if I'm honest.
It has a light feel to it and smoothes out nicely with a low coverage, i think this is a little to pink for me but i will give it a go.

Update: I wasn't amazed by this product although I've heard its a really good brand? The coverage was so low and i prefer something a bit heavier and the colour didn't match my skin tone at all :(  it was nice and creamy and did smooth out my skin so it works as a nice base but i don't think i will be using it if I'm honest.

Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure
5 steps of a manicure in 1 bottle! Base coat, Strengthener, Growth treatment, colour & topcoat.

This sounds amazing but I'm not overly keen on the colour, i guess its a good one for Christmas!!

Overall, I'm not overly thrilled with the box but i will give all of the products a go and hopefully I'll love them!

Have you got your box through? what did you think?

Top 5 Foundations for Dry Skin ♥

YSL Touche Eclat foundation
MAC Studio Sculpt foundation
Boujois healthy Mix foundaton
Revlon Age Defying
bareMinerals Original Foundation

L-R: MAC Studio Sculpt, YSL Touch Eclat, Bourjois Healthy Mix, Revlon Age Defying
Centre: bareMinerals

The YSL Touche Eclat foundation is definately my favourite for every day use, its fragrance free and not irritating at all. It doesn't have the heaviest coverage and it is quite a runny consistency but it is nice and buildable with a dewy finish, it also doesn't set or exaggerate them dry bits which is great. I have so much love for this foundation!

MAC Studio Sculpt foundation is my favourite for a night out or that special occasion, the coverage is ammmazing and hides all them little lurking blemishes!! Its a gel formula so its not drying, although it is quite thick so i find its a bit to heavy for every day wear.

The Boujois healthy Mix foundation is a heavier coverage than the YSL but much lighter than the MAC Studio Sculpt. It does have a slight fragrance to it but its not irritating at all. This doesn't last as long as the YSL or MAC studio sculpt but its still one of my favourites to date!

The Revlon Age Defying is pretty similar to the YSL really, it has a very dewy finish with quite a light coverage - maybe a little less coverage than the YSL. It does have a slight scent too. It doesnt last all that long which is why i prefer the YSL, it lasts better with a little powder but that kinda defeats the point of the dewy look.

The bareMinerals Original Foundation is a recent find of mine, i was always worried to try it as i had read some really bad reviews. I have the most sensitive skin ever and i have never had a reaction to this. Although it's a powder it doesn't look all cakey and dry which is what i was expecting. I often use a little bit of this to settle my liquid foundation, it leaves a bit of dewyness behind which i love.

I'd love to know your favourite foundation?

Sleek | Pout Paints Review & Swatches

In Rosette & Pinkini

What sleek say:
A truly unique lip product, Pout Paint is an intense lip pigment like no other that is made to be mixed.

I Lurrrrrve these bad boys!!
The colour on the left (rosette) is a pink with a slight purple tinge to it and the one on the the right (pinkini) is a bright fuschia, these colours are pretty similar really.
They are so pigmented and a little goes such a long way!  I love that you can mix up the colours to get any shade ya fancy too. I wasn't keen on the Sleek pout polish but these are so so soo much better!
When i first spotted these i thought they looked so expensive, £5 for such a little tube seemed silly but once i actually tried it i couldn't believe how far a tiny little blob went.
This sounds a little strange but the consistency is quite paint-like (hence the name?), but its not a bad thing its just quite thick and very pigmented is all, a sheer coat of this is hard to achieve! This is not sticky in the slightest and its nice and smooth to apply. For some extra shine just apply a little vasaline over the top and you're sorted :)
I really love these - i rate them highly, i will be investing in some more colours as mine are so similar :)

Have you tried these? Which colours did you mix?

L'occitane Ultra Rich Face Cream Review & Pictures

What L'occitane say:
Formulated with 25% shea butter, the Ultra Rich Face Cream intensely nourishes dry and very dry skin and effectively protects it against dryness and climatic damage. The sensation of tightness soon becomes a thing of the past; the skin feels absolute, unprecedented comfort.

I love the smell of this face cream so much! It smells just like their hand cream which i really love. It smells a bit like baby powder but its such a lovely smell i can't get enough of it.

This is a very thick cream which is made up of 25% shea butter. Although i have very dry sensitive skin i didn't rub this all over my face, i just applied it to my dry bits. It didn't work that brilliantly if I'm honest - it did temporarily hide the flakeys but it did seem to block my pores up too which put me off a lot :(

This doesn't irritate or sting my face which is a must for me and i find that it sinks in straight away and doesn't feel greasy or sticky.

I really did want to love this cream as i fell in love instantly with the hand cream but it didn't work that brilliantly on my dodgy skin unfortunately & for this reason i don't think i would repurchase.

Has anyone else tried any L'occitane products? What did you think?
