June favourites ♥

Boots Cucumber Eye Gel
I forgot how much I loved this stuff. Its so cheap, it lasts forever and can be used in so many ways! I use it on my eyelashes pre-mascara and I also run some through my brows to smooth them into place. It doesn't do much for my under eye circles in all honesty but it really is refreshing and for £1.49 you can't complain. Try using this before mascara, it really is amazing!

L'oreal Nude Magique BB cream
I got this in the purple version which is for dull skin. It comes out a grey/white colour and starts to "adapt" to your skin tone as you blend it in. I don't believe it really adapts to your skin tone as it is a little too dark for me but I actually like this as my neck is always a little darker than my face so it evens it all up nicely. It has a matte finish which I usually stray away from as my skin is so dry but this isn't drying at all. It makes your skin feel so smooth and soft. It has a low coverage so it wont really cover much it just evens everything out slightly. It is very yellow toned though so try it before hand!

Topshop highlighter
I got this in the shade 'moonbeam' which is a nice rosey gold shade. It really adds a nice radiance to your face.

Topshop Eyeliner
I love this eyeliner! Its so easy to use - it has a fine felt tip nib and is perfect for beginners! It lasts very well but can end up smudging a little if you touch it.

Mac Mineralize skinfinish
I used to use the shade 'light plus' for my everyday powder and I absolutely loved it. I use this shade (medium dark) as a bronzer and its gorgeous, it has a slight sheen to it in the pan but it doesn't show up on your face. This is definitely my favourite bronzer!

Bourjois Cream Blush
I love love love this blush! I've worn this every day since I got it and i'm totally converted. I love the colour, its a gorgeous peachy apricot shade which is perfect for when the sun is out or not. It really adds a pop of colour to your cheeks and brightens up your face nicely.

Garnier Eye Roll On
This is the first thing I apply in the mornings and it's lovely. It's so refreshing and really soothes tired eyes. The coverage is surprisingly good too.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
I've been using this in place of my YSL radiance powder (review here) as the YSL powder is a little too light for me now. I think every blogger has raved about this powder and it really is so good for the price!

Eyebrows | Mac Omega Eyeshadow Review

I really hate my eyebrows.
What ever I do with them I'm never happy and can never get them to look even! I've been growing them since christmas and they are thicker than they were but I just find one is much more curved than the other.. does anyone else find this with their eyebrows??
I've been using this in conjunction with my Clinique fine liner brow pencil which I also really love and they work really well together. Its a nice soft matte brown which is perfect for my light mousey brown eyebrows. I love that this doesn't have a red/orange tinge to it which I find with most 'light brown' colours - I'm looking at you Rimmel eyebrow pencil!
If I have enough time then I try to even out my shape with an angled brush if not then I run some through with an eyebrow comb and it just darkens them up a little. I have to fill in the bottom of my eyebrow more as this area is a little more sparse. I find that this is quite a versatile colour, its quite a light brown but it is very buildable which is nice if you prefer a more dramatic brow.

Another haul... naughty

Bourjois  Magic Nail Polish Remover
There has been so many rave reviews on this that when I saw it in Boots I finally caved! To be honest I'm sort of on the fence with it - It it quick to use although removing red nail polish was a complete fail and I ended up with pink fingers!

Aveeno Moistuising Creamy Oil (full review)
This is my second bottle of this bad boy, its very moisturising but not greasy in the slightest. It has a runny consistency so it glides over your skin and doesn't require any rubbing in which is nice.

Hydraluron Moisture Booster (full review)
This is also another repurchase! I wont bore you too much as I have written a full review but to summarise I love this stuff and I cant recommend it enough. Amazing product.

Estee Lauder Disappear Concealer
I bloody love a concealer me. I hate my dark under eye circles and I havent found that perfect under eye concealer yet so if i ever walk by a counter then there is sure to be trouble! This is one of the more expensive concealers that I have tried but so far so good! I think I prefer liquid concealers for under my eyes and this one is just the right consistency. It blurs my dark circles but isn't dry and cakey which I like.

Avene thermal Spring Water
If you read my blog then you will know that I have sensitive skin so a lot of products tend to iritate me. I use this as my toner after cleansing and I find that its nice and soothing. I do agree that it is just a glorified water but it works for me. If your skin isn't on the sensitive side then it's probably not a product that you need (lucky sods!)

Lush Honey Trap Lip Balm
I am already in love with this product! I love the smell of it, the taste, the texture and the results it gives. I purchased the lip scrub too try but I havent needed it as this lip balm is just so good! If you like honey then you will love this!

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
I've always wanted to try the Lush lip scrubs so I took the plunge and brought the bubblegum flavour. I haven't tried this yet but I am looking forward to giving it a whirl!

Mac Mineralise Skin Finish in Medium Dark
I had this in Light plus and it was my favourite powder. It was light and sheer so great for dry skin. As the sun has started to make an appearance every now and then I wanted a bronzer so I opted for the MSF in medium dark. Really love these powders!

Battle of the Cream Blushers!

Hi Girlies ,

So i posted about the MAC cremeblend blush a while ago here and lets just say i wasnt sold on it. Since then i've been on the hunt for a new dewy, creamy blush for us girls (or boys) with a more drier skin type - which i can say that I have now found. Whoohoo!

Left: Cremeblend in 'Something Special'
Right: Blushcreme in 'Lady Blush'
Left: Cremeblend in 'Something Special'
Right: Blushcreme in 'Lady Blush'
The problem with the MAC cremeblend was it was quite a matt finish and i think more suited for oily/normal skin types as it tended to stick to my dry bits.
The MAC cremeblend was the reformulated version of the origional blushcream which i managed to find on ebay in 'ladyblush' and i absolutely love it! The blushcremes are now discontinued so its very hard to get hold of these but you may get lucky. From these pictures you can probably see how different the cremeblend and blushcreme are, look how dewy the blushcreme is! Just what i was looking for :)

So as this has been discontined you may think it was a bit of a waste of time telling you about it.. Well no, because i found a dupe for it! Yay me -

 Left: Blushcreme in 'Lady Blush'
Right: NYX Cream blush in 'Natural'

Left: Cremeblend in 'Something Special'
Middle: Blushcreme in 'Lady Blush'
Right: NYX Cream blush in 'Natural'

The Dupe: NYX Rouge Cream Blush £5.99
I really like this NYX blush, it's exactly the same consistency as the MAC blushcreme and the colour isn't that far of - plus its cheaper!

They are both a little sticky/tacky when applied but i wouldn't say they were hard to work with at all, they both last a good few hours without setting which i think is okay going seeing how dewy they are.
I'd say that these maybe aren't brilliantly suited for oily skins as they have quite an oily feeling to them, but they don't seem to block my pores so it could be fine.
You can get a nice sheen of colour with these or build it up for a heavier coverage but it could get quite shiney if you used too much so i guess it's finding the balance. I apply this over my foundation and it blends in so well, i find using a stipling brush gives a more even finish than using my fingers and leaves a nice glow.

I will definately be purchasing the NYX blush in different colours - really love & recommend them

Do you prefer powder or cream blush?

MAC Makeup | Mineralize Skin Finish in Light Plus Review & Pictures

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Light Plus

I bought this from the mac store online for £21, I didn't want a really heavy powder so I thought I’d give this a try

What MAC say:
A luxurious domed face powder with minerals slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish. Provides perfect low coverage. Use to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day.

I love this powder, it’s defiantly the best one I have ever used and may have to say it’s even my HG for the moment! It very soft, silky and very natural - It's not cakey at all. I use NC20 foundations and this colour (light plus) seems to work well with those.

MAC say that's it’s a low coverage but I’d say that this is definitely buildable. I use this every day and it doesn't break me out and it doesn't seem to irritate or dry my skin out like most other powders.

I brush a little of this over my under eye concealer to set and it seems to work fine with me, it doesn’t settle in my lines. It also doesn’t oxidise at all which is great, I’ve tries so many different powders in the past and this is the one I’ve stuck with.

Definitely a thumbs up from me, will be buying this again when it runs out!

Bloody Eye Bags & Concealers

I've tried so many concealers to try and hide my dark circles so I thought id give a little run down of the goodies and the not so goods. I've marked each one out of six hearts JUST for under the eyes. As i try news ones i will expand this list.

MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer

This is very thick and creamy and if i want extra coverage i put this under my foundation so its not so thick and cakey. It does settle in the lines a little but its not so bad. I do prefer this one on blemishes to be honest as it covers perfectly. (Review here)

MAC Studio Finish Concealer

I find this rubbish under my eyes, it has no staying power and it quite tough to pat on and you end up pulling your eye around. Its quite drying too so its a no no for me. Its ok-ish on blemishes but it doesn't last that long so i usually forget about this concealer and leave it at the bottom of my makeup bag.

MAC Moisture Cover

This is probably my favourite mac concealer for under the eye area, I do find it is very moisturising - true to its name. It blends in nicely and you don't have to tug your eye to blend it (review here)

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

I only got this very recently but it is growing on me. The first time i used it i though 'oh no, i don't like it!' but i carried on using it and its getting a but more creamier now! I found it really hard to blend in under my eye but it must be getting softer as its easier now. I usually put this on last once I've put all my other make up on and set it with a little bit of powder and it seems to do a good job.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

This isn't a bad concealer but i just don't seam to reach for it when i do my make up. I find that this and the moisture cover are too runny for covering blemishes and i prefer the others for under my eyes. I find that this sticks to my dry patches after awhile but its not a bad concealer overall.
YSL Touch Eclat

I love this, I don't think that it covers brilliantly but i like the brightening effect it gives and i usually put this on after my moisture cover for extra brightening. It is a highlighter and not a concealer after all.
Benefit Erase Paste

This has grown on me too, I wasn't keen at first but I find if I put this on first and then another one over the top then it works well. Its also great for right in the the corner of your eye, I use it here every day without fail. (review here)

Top 3
1- Mac Moisture Cover
2- Bobbi Brown creamy concealer
3- Benefit erase paste

I hope this helps?

MAC Makeup | Studio Sculpt Concealer Review, Pictures, Swatches & Dupe

Mac Studio Sculpt Concealer in NC20

I Luuuuurve this concealer, this is probably my favourite for covering any blemishes.
Its really thick and stays where you put it! I find it's a little too thick for under my eyes and it can crease a bit, but I usually use the moisture cover for that anyway - ha! (review here).

I definitely agree that its full coverage but I do set it with a little powder as I find it can sometimes disappear without it - the little bugger!
It costs £14.50 for a pot but it lasts for absolutely ages! If this is too expensive for you then  you can buy a similar product, a 'dupe' if you like, for around a fiver by NYX - its called concealer in a jar.

Whats your favourite concealer?

MAC Makeup | Moisture Cover Concealer Review, Swatches, Before & After

MAC Moisture Cover Concealer

NW15 on Left, NW20 on Right
I Love this - It’s lovely and creamy and doesn't make your under eye's look all cakey, dry and horrible which of course is a bonus :) It's not that thick but it covers well. I do set it with a little bit of powder once I'm done to keep it in place.

I mix NW 15 and NW 20 together to cover mine, swatches above.

I find that this concealer doesn't cover blemishes so well as it’s quite a runny consistency but the studio sculpt concealer is the best for blemishes in my opinion anyway.

Whats your favourite concealer? x

MAC Makeup | Studio Sculpt Foundation Review & Swatch

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation Review
in NC20

I bought this for £24 in Mac at Westfield’s :)

If you have read any of my other reviews you will know I have the most dry, sensitive skin ever :(  so I'm on the hunt for my perfect foundation which hydrates my skin and doesn't cling to my dry patches or irritate me to high heaven :)

So anyway,  I thought I'd give this a go as it’s a nice gel foundation and it is described as 'hydrating' which is a defo a plus for me!

I have to say straight away that I Love Love Love this foundation.. It’s definitely up there with the YSL Touché Éclat foundation (click here for review)

It’s described as medium/build able coverage which I would definitely agree with as it covers my pink cheeks and blemishes with no problems and doesn't accentuate them at all! I purchased this in NC20 as it’s got the cool tone which counteracts my redness (result!). It spreads nice and easily too. It does smell a little bit like paint but it’s not unpleasant at all.

It has a nice dewy finish and makes my skin feel soft and moisturised which is really rare for me. This doesn't dry my skin out at all which really surprised me to be honest as I tried the MAC mineralize foundation but I didn't really like that. As this is quite a full coverage I do find that with frequent use it does give me a few blemishes so I often stick to this on a night out or on that special occasion.

This is definitely one of my favourite foundations as it makes my skin look flawless (which it isn't) so it is hard to leave it alone at times!

If anyone knows of good foundations for dry/sensitive skin pleasssse let me know :)
