Sleek | Brow Kit in 'Extra Dark' Review & Swatches

Hey Lovelies

Wax on the left & Powder on the right

You may have seen this pop up in my favourite's post last week (here), I’ve been using this for a couple of months so I feel like I can give a nice fair review on this now.

Before I got this I had always used the Rimmel brow pencil in extra dark, My hair is actually not that dark but if I go for a lighter colour it always looks orangey on me and unnatural. Does anyone else find that?

With this kit you get a nice thickish wax to set them naughty eyebrows, which don’t do as they’re told, and also a powder to set the wax.
These swatches are super heavy which is why they look so dark but you can also get a nice natural finish if you use a lighter hand which is what i opt for.

I don’t use the powder all that much, I use the tiniest bit to settle the wax to help it last that little bit longer but i prefer the wax to the powder. So does it last all day? Well honestly - no not really, a good several hours I’d say if you don’t touch or smudge it.

You get two little brushes and the cutest pair of tweezers which aren’t actually that bad. The brushes are ok, they are usable but they are just so tiny it’s hard to get a good grip on them.

This is really good stuff, I use it most days (some days I’m just a lazy bum) and it hasn't made a dent at all yet so I see it lasting for absolutely ages - years? decades? This is so much better than a brow pencil its gives a nice finish whether it's natural or bold.

I haven’t tried the elf brow kit or the benefit browzings but this one is in the middle at £7.99 and I’m happy with it and would repurchase :)

What do you use on you eyebrows?

Benefit They're Real Mascara - Believe The Hype People! ♥♥

If like me you didn't jump on the bandwagon (at first) then you should! This mascara is amazing, it beats my top two mascaras hands down! I was always a little tempted to buy this mascara due to all the rave reviews but as I'm so fussy about my mascaras I just thought the price was too expensive to risk not liking it.

I was making a few new purchases in boots and noticed this little tester option, being in an 'oh sod it' mood I picked one up and and I'm so pleased i did. I love it!

I don't have the longest eyelashes so I like something that keeps them nice and curled after curling them and this does just that. It doesn't go all clumpy, it dries nice and quickly, lasts all day and doesn't flake off - its just so lovely to use. My boyfriend even commented saying that my eye lashes look more 'spruced' lol.

The brush is a little fiddly as this is only half the size but its not too much of a hassle. The wand is plastic and applys the mascara nicely, the bobble at the end is handy for getting into the corners too - I always assumed this would be a pain in the ass but it's not!

Would I repurchase? YES! It is an expensive mascara compared to drug store brands but this is the best mascara I have tried (and I'm fussy so that's saying something!)

Have you tried this mascara? What did you think?

Estee Lauder Disappear - Smoothing Creme Concealer Review & Swatches

Estee Lauder -Disappear - Smoothing Concealer

I hate my dark under eye circles so when I see a product that promises to get rid of them I just cant help my self - it has to come home with me!

This set me back £22 which I think is the most expensive concealer I have ever purchased. You do get 15ml of product which I think justifys it a little as it will last a long time and its very pigmented.

Did i like it? Well, as I said, I originally bought this for my under eyes but to be honest i'm really not a fan! Its very drying, even more so than the collection lasting perfection concealer, and it doesn't last all that well on me. Its not that it fades, it's more the fact that is dries down so much it ends up highlighting them rather than disguising them. I find however that it doesn't settle into fine lines, so if you have a problem with creasing this could be the one for you!

I then tried to use this to cover blemishes which I found was the best option but again it doesn't last all that long, I'd say a couple of hours before you need to reapply and that's with powder over the top!

Overall, I am disappointed with this product and its not worth the price at all in my opinion. I don't find my self reaching for it on a daily basis and I much prefer my Rimmel Match Perfection concealer for under my eyes and the Collection Lasting concealer for blemishes - they are tonnes better and much cheaper!

I've never been to lush before!

You can smell a lush shop from a few miles away so I always just assumed that their products would irritate my sensitive skin to death. I was out shopping a few weeks back and just thought I'd have a little butchers for curiosity's sake. The nicest shop assistant wondered over to ask if there was anything in particular that I was looking for.. I told her that I get eczema and that I have crazily sensitive skin and well, cut along story short 5 minutes later I had made a new purchase!

I'll stop blabbering now and get on with the review!

Lush say that Dream Cream is 'A soothing and cooling cream that is designed to go on even the most sensitive and easily upset skins'. Firstly, I totally agree with the statement I've had no bad reactions to this what so ever and it really is so so soothing!

It says that's its a hand and body lotion - I use this every day as a body lotion (well maybe not every day, sometimes I forget!) and literally all day at work on my hands. I chuck this in my bag before I leave in the morning and have it sitting on my desk. It's just brilliant! It cools any irritated burning skin and stops any itchiness. It soothes any dry bits and reduces redness. I have mixed a little with my face moisturiser recently and its worked nicely, I haven't been brave enough to smother my face in it just yet though!

I'll be honest - I'm not a fan of the smell at all, it's very strong and I think that it's lavender/rose which I really don't like. But .. It does such a great job that I ignore the scent and it wares off pretty quickly to be honest so its not a big deal.

The cream is quite a thick consistency (not as thick as a body butter but thicker than a regular lotion) it spreads nicely and it isn't sticky at all. It sinks in after a minute or so and doesn't leave you feeling like a big greasy mess afterwards.

I don't mind that its a tub, it makes it nice and quick to get too in the morning rush around! It doesn't look that glam on the dressing table in my opinion but its what inside that counts ;)

I really recommend this product so much, it says that its for any skin type but I cant recommend this enough if you have skin even slightly similar to mine! I will definitely be repurchasing this it really has saved my poor old skin.

Whats your favourite Lush product? Have you tried this lotion before?

Clarins Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate Serum Review

My New Favourite Product!

Whats Clarins say – ‘An ultra-soothing emergency treatment for very sensitive skin. This comforting oil instantly calms extreme irritations and inflammations with the nurturing benefits of 90% pure plant extracts.’

I bought this a good few months ago when my skin was really playing me up eczema wise and it just wasn’t working for me at the time. Since gaining control over my crazy dry skin (blog post here if you’re interested) I rediscovered this product at the bottom of my drawer and since then I haven’t looked back.

I like to use this as the first thing after washing my face in the evening. It’s not a greasy oil so it sinks in quite nicely but it does leave a slight residue behind which I don’t personally mind. I then follow up with my everyday moisturiser which is currently the Avene Skin Recovery moisturiser.

I’m not a huge fan of the scent, it has a very strong lavender-y plant-y smell to it but it doesn’t stick around for too long. My skin isn’t as sensitive as it used to be luckily but this stuff still works a treat. It is absolutely amazing on any blemishes - you know the really sore ones that hurt when your face moves. Yep? Them ones! It really does reduce the buggers over night.

I have only been using this in the evening as it is so expensive but it really calms my skin down and makes it nice and soft in the morning. I can imagine this being fine for any skin type as it use it on my cheeks which are on the dry side as well as my nose which is on the oily side and it doesn’t cause any problems what so ever. I will definately be repurchasing this beaut!

Green People: Neutral Scent Free Cleanser & Anti-Aging 24-hour Cream Reviews

Green People: Neutral Scent Free Cleanser & Anti-Aging 24-hour Cream Reviews

The lovely Amy at Green People sent me over a few products to try from their scent free range for their sensitive skin week and I am so pleased she did as I am completely converted already!

I don't like to use anything harsh on my skin as its so temperamental so these products sounded absolutely perfect. They are free from essential oils, alcohol, parabens, lanolin and lots of other nasties which can cause reactions. They don't test on animals either which is another thing that I love about them!

Neutral Scent Free Cleanser £18.95*
This cleanser is a make-up remover as well as a cleanser so I have been using this to double cleanse my face. The consistency reminds me of the Liz Earle cleanse and polish, its almost like a thick cream/balm which feels nice and luxurious when you apply it. I don't wear much make but this cleanser removes what I do wear easily, it gets rid of my mascara without making my eyes sore too which is rare for me! I had a few break outs before using this which I think was down to going back on the pill and this has really helped to calm the redness and I haven't had any new breakouts since using this cleanser day and night. I find that my skin doesn't get feel really dry after cleansing with this, it feels very soft and balanced. It really is an amazing cleanser and I totally converted, its quickly become my favourite cleanser to use.

Anti-Aging 24-Hour Cream £15.95*
I am used to smothering my skin in thick rich greasy creams to try and nourish my dry skin so this cream was a bit different to what I was used to.
This cream is a day & a night cream which is free from all the nasties mentioned above but it does contains Organic Evening Primrose, Avocado, Squalane from Olive, Green Tea, Baicalin & Seaweed which are all amazing for sensitive skin.
This moisturiser has a very similar texture to the cleanser, it goes on a like a balm and doesn't feel greasy in the slightest, it has a sort of matte feel to it. It makes my skin feel so smooth by the morning without that shiny greasy suffocating your skin feeling. I am really picky about my moisturisers but I love this!

I am so so impressed by this brand and I'm so pleased I've been introduced to them as their products work so well with my sensitive skin. I cant wait to try more of their products & I'm eyeing up their make up and anti-aging face oil next!

You can get 10% off of their scent free range all through April and they even do little miniatures to try. I've added a link here to their scent free skin care range if you fancy a browse.
